The Steineggerhof is situated in the peaceful outskirts of the mountain village of Steinegg, not far from Bolzano: no through traffic, surrounded by the mountains of the Dolomites: Catinaccio, Latemar, Sciliar and Alpe di Siusi. We have specialized in eBikers, hikers and motorcyclists. Our wellness area and yoga on the new panoramic roof terrace invite you to relax. In the second generation, we run the small family hotel with 65 beds with a lot of passion. Living with nature has always been our main focus. As far as possible, we cook according to the “cook the mountain” style. In the Steineggerhof kitchen, we make as much as possible ourselves: we ferment, make our own jams, bake bread and much more. This gives us the best possible control over the quality of our goods and saves us a lot of packaging waste. Hundreds of jars of tomato sauce, sauerkraut, kimchi, jams, compotes etc. are in the storage and are waiting to be opened!

Vegan-friendly cuisine

By switching to a mainly vegan cuisine, our dishes have become more varied, colourful and above all healthier. Our kitchen is based on traditional dishes from South Tyrol and Italy, from which we create innovative and delicious vegan dishes.

Certified climate positive

We work certified climate positive and as a CO2 compensation, we support a forest project in Uruguay. Since 2017 we have been able to reduce our CO2 emissions from 7.30 kg per night to 4.43 kg! In comparison, a conventional hotel measures over 40 kg per overnight stay. In the future we would like to go even further away from plastic, grow more ourselves … there is still a lot to do to save the world at least a little bit!

Bikehotel

The Steineggerhof is a founding member of the Bikehotels South Tyrol. Two bike guides take our guests on eBike tours or mountain bike tours every week. Bike professionals such as Tom Öhler, Stefan Schlie, Manfred Stromberg and Stefan Hermann’s MTB Academy hold bike or eBike camps with us.

Hikers and nature lovers looking for peace and quiet, mountain huts with delicious South Tyrolean specialities and a unique panorama are in good hands with us.
Motorcyclists can look forward to 30 different passes just waiting to be discovered and explored!

For our guests who want to take it a little easier, our long-time staff member Sigrid gives yoga lessons, taster courses for functional training or accompanies you on small and larger hikes.

Planet Suites

New are our unique planet suites Jupiter, Mars, Saturn, Mercury, Venus, as well as the extended wellness area with indoor pool, whirlpool, Finnish sauna, steam bath and the spacious relaxation room “Terra” with reading lounge, as well as a yoga and fitness room. Our sunny panoramic roof top terrace with a Finnish sauna surprises with a wonderful panoramic view of the surrounding mountains.
By the way, our guests can rent the roof top terrace in the evening as a private SPA and stay overnight under the open sky!
